Hi Patrick,
This watercolour has a really well balanced palette.
I like the glowy atmosphere.
Watercolour is a medium with great tradition in Great Britain and you're not exception.
Congratulations !
José
Hi Jose,
Thanks for your comment, I love watercolour and light that can be achieved with the medium. Somtimes it frustrates me but mostly it facinates me. I see your an active artist yourself, If you think some sort of link exchange would be useful let me know! I love Portugal spent many lovely times on the Algarve, hope to be back there soon painting!
Regards
Patrick
Why oh why didn't I stay in the West Country, when I left the RN? If I want to soak in the atmosphere and paint this kind of scene, I have to rely on my photographs, or make a four hour drive first!
A nice balanced painting, full of mood and atmosphere. Just the right amount of realism, but showing watercolour for the fantastic medium it is. Oil is supposed to be the Queen of the Media. Maybe, but watercolour is the Queen Mother!
